East Bay Regional Park District is conducting an extensive search for an experienced and forward thinking real estate professional with a strong commitment to conservation of open space to serve as the new Chief of Land Acquisition. Reporting directly to the Assistant General Manager of Acquisition, Stewardship and Development Division, the Chief of Land Acquisition ensures the Park District’s ongoing series of land acquisitions are made in a manner that is efficient, timely, and according to plan. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker and an articulate communicator who is comfortable interacting with a wide-array of individuals from Park District Leadership, EBRPD Board Members, local and regional elected officials, land owners, and other key stakeholders. Department oversight includes 5 FTEs including two Land Acquisition Specialists; a Senior Land Acquisition Specialist; a Management Analyst; and an Administrative Analyst. This position requires a Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience in real estate law, real estate finance, land acquisition, acquisition planning, and/or right-of-way work, of which three years must have been at a level that included supervision of staff. An advanced degree is desirable along with an attorney or real estate broker license in California. The salary range for this position is $128,003 to $163,321 with possible future merit steps up to $189,051. The District also offers an attractive benefits package including CalPERS retirement.
