The City of Burlingame (pop. 30,000) is a thriving suburban city located three miles south of the San Francisco Airport. It boasts a significant shoreline and has two main downtown areas, which are well-known commercial destinations. With a team of 19 staff and a $1 million budget, the Community Development Department is responsible for planning, building, economic development and housing.
The ideal candidate will be a knowledgeable and credible industry professional who is well-versed in contemporary urban planning practices. They will bring exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment on a diversity of projects. Excellent leadership and people management skills will be expected.
Successful candidates will have seven years of increasingly responsible CD experience, including three years of management experience and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. A Master’s Degree is highly desirable.
