Redwood City (pop. 86,380) is known for its diversity, strong neighborhoods, and civic pride in the heart of the Silicon Valley. The Community Development & Transportation Department is supported by 59 staff organized across three divisions: Building Regulation and Code Enforcement Services, Engineering and Transportation Services, and Planning. The Planning Manager reports to the Director.

A collaborative team player with the ability to inspire and motivate others, the ideal candidate will be a well-regarded urban planning professional who thrives in a dynamic setting. Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills are strongly preferred. A minimum of five years of increasingly responsible relevant urban planning experience, including at least two years of supervisory experience, and a Bachelor’s degree is required. A Master’s degree and/or AICP certification desirable.
